here is a huge diversity of flora in the Luberon (representing over a  quarter of French species) and include a number of rare species.
 The biological quality of the Luberon plays a major role, here are just a  few reasons why:
- a broad geological diversity
- a wide range of relief
- an important hydrography network
- expertise in traditional agricultural and forestry traditions

There are three distinctive zones of vegetation
 The Mediterranean zone
 The driest and hottest zone. Up to an altitude of 800/900 m .
 The hilly zone
 Above an altitude of 800/900 m. The oak becomes the white oak ("climatic")
 The mountain zone
 In the high areas, north facing of the Grand Luberon
