| An
old fortified village typical of Provence with houses on a hill and St
Denis' Chapel on the summit. From that site looking over the Encreme Valley right in front of your very eyes you have one of the largest and luminous landscape of Haute Provence with a view on to the Lure mountain and the Luberon. Reillanne has a rich past inherited from prehistory. The roman legions occupied the region and built the Via Domitia (the Domitian way ) through which the barbarian invasions poured much later. The remains of the medieval castle keeping an eye on the village and protecting it ,is a piece of evidence of the great influence of Reillanne in the region during the middle-ages. On a stroll you will discover the old district with typical houses, archways, beautiful squares and nice doors. |
